@oliverromain It's not as if it's not being outed everywhere as a scam. They're going to find out, and if they're adults, it should be easily reconciled that they've been scammed. It happens all the time to many people in varying ways. Has become just one of those things folk just have to learn from 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'd suggest not treating friends as weans, maybe?

@rs @FlikeNoir Scottish is culture includes strong traditions of storytelling and folklore. Scotland needs lots of Americans coming and enjoying the wonderful hospitality (with a few exceptions) of the Scottish people. If they have a story to tell that’s fine too.

If just they visit for ten minutes to drone on about how their great-great-grandpappy lived in Edinburgh castle and fought off the English all by himself and invented shortbread and therefore they consider themselves more SCADDISH than those of us who actually live here, the hospitality from me will become a might chilly.

I've taken to commenting on YouTubers' vids if they advertise this scam to let them know they should be researching their sponsors better and that it's disappointing they'd let their loyal subscribers fall for it on their say-so.
