We cannot learn to live with #COVID by ignoring it. #CovidIsNotOver - it leads to internal damage of every organ system, even in those who think they've recovered.

#COVIDisAirborne so we must improve #ventilation and #filtration and #WearAMask when rates are high.

We need a way to know when those rates are high and not be tricked into thinking the risk is low when it's not. #Wastewater levels can help, but aren't available everywhere.

I'm wearing my #mask, #vaccinated and #boosted. Join me!

@pediatricskc We know rates are high now - they've only dropped to single figures of deaths per day in the UK twice since it started.

I don't need to #WearAMask in my own home or in non-crowded places outdoors, and I almost never go anywhere else apart from for medical appointments.

@TimWardCam Too many in my area think the rates are low, despite #wastewater levels showing they're not. You're smart to not go many places if you don't like to wear a #mask. I'm used to them and wear them as needed, just like boots and a winter coat. Dress appropriately and #MaskAppropriatelyForTheConditions.

@pediatricskc
I don't like to go places where there are other people because there's covid, not because I don't like to wear a #mask. On the rare occasions when I do choose to go to such places then I do wear one, but whilst it helps reduce the risk it's not a 100% magic bullet so I prefer to not go where other people are.

Had to visit my GP for an in-person appointment the other day for the first time since the before times. I refused to wait in the waiting room because, even with a mask on, that would have been my biggest exposure risk since the plague started. I waited outdoors and he phoned me to come in when it was my turn.
