@breadandcircuses I was thinking just this yesterday, as I drove on a French motorway and saw innumerable hedges and forests brutally cut in half, and felt the ghosts of their missing parts longing to connect them again.

When I worked in the bush in northern ontario it was clear that wherever a road went, the predators used that road to alter the territory in which they roam. It changed the Entire dynamics of the habitats it went through.
