I have finally tried a digital mode. #FT8 #10W into a G5RV. Worked lots of VK's a ZL, JA, K7, HC2, and 3D2. I'm calling it a success and enjoying the mode.

@berry #FT8 is just a magic mode, and unless you're going to be a #CW warrior, it's really the best way to finish a DX Century Club or comparable award.

@roadriverrail @KO4ERE I finished off the evening with contacts to Alaska (a first for me) and Korea who rarely hear me with their high noise floor. Yes I'm hooked.

@berry @KO4ERE That's very fine business indeed. I really love FT8. There's nothing like leaving it on passive receive and getting alerts for only the countries remaining on my DXCC.

And there's a text chat protocol that operates over it!

@berry @KO4ERE I think it's called JS8CALL? It's slower than BPSK31 but it feels less brittle
