Everyone's really happy to see how I'm setting things up but they certainly are also finding it very odd.
That's kind of reassuring, I generally don't understand other people's spaces either!

"Nope, I find it *snug*. Small, personal, private, intimate - that's what I want for my bedroom. The big rooms are for the public / guests."

Other things may change, but I always set up my bedrooms the same way, and every time, as soon as I come in, I breathe a little easier and know I am home.

@canzonett everyone had such different needs, I think it's one of the greatest cruelties of society to reserve that fulfillment for only some, and tell the rest to put up with a standard that doesn't fit

@vivschwarz I mean, just having several rooms at your disposal is already a luxurious situation. But so many people who have that space use it merely for symbolic or representative purposes, basically for storing aspects of their own meaning and self-importance inside them, instead of putting them to actual use.

@canzonett yeah, no need for status display here, which is lucky... Every so often I remember the "your bed should only touch the wall with the headboard if you're an adult" thing and it just amazes me
