Despite this they intend to sever these routes with a new dual carriageway through these woods & mitigate with completely unproven bat hop-overs. @WensumWoodlanders in case more info useful. A key issue with hopovers is that it can take the vegetation 10-20 years (or more) to reach a height where it may (or may not) be effective

@Jo_the_Botanist in this case the design claims to incorporate existing mature trees in the central reservation, but I suspect this would unlikely to be so in the finished mitigation
