Best use of google eyes.
@atheistengineer but what about this guy?
@Jofish5000 That's also hilarious. I don't know which I like better, but the turkey is much more topical.
@atheistengineer Hey! Yew lookin’ at me?! (This one was just down our block)
@atheistengineer this is a typical case where a quote toot would make perfect sense. If I retooted this to my German followers with the comment "Hallo, Spencer!", most of them would understand. But as a reply to a, in all likelihood, non-German this doesn't make the slightest sense.
@hllizi no need to credit me. I just scrolled past the picture on another social media site. Fee free to copy it and report it as your own.
@atheistengineer yeah, I've seen it before. Just found this a good illustration of a remark about the difference between quoting and reply+retoot that I made a few days ago.
Dieu (@[email protected])

@[email protected] @[email protected] the difference is that a quote post can define its own topic, hence it cannot be OT. Things that would be totally fine as quote posts might provoke an “okaaaay, what exactly do you want from me?" as replies.

@hllizi @atheistengineer if you do what you did just here, copy-paste the link in a new toot, it does (almost) act as a quote-retoot, doesn't it?
I found that to be good enough for me, at least. 😅
@Nclt @hllizi it’s be nice if it showed the linked toot’s graphics / text in a preview.
@atheistengineer @hllizi yeah, I see it's your profile pic that's shown here.. I did the same with a toot containing a picture a couple days ago and the picture appeared in my toot... At least a good path of it
@Nclt @atheistengineer that's right. And actually I am, as a tendenc rather opposed to introducing quote toots, I understand there are downsides. But still "reply+RT is just as good in all legitimate cases" isn't really true.
@atheistengineer My daughter puts google eyes on everything. She would love this.
@atheistengineer I always feel sorry for trees having to absorb manmade obstacles to their growth
@atheistengineer , trees will conform to their obstacles. 😺
@atheistengineer I've heard them called "vandal eyes".
@atheistengineer haha - Love it! Though I always thought they were called googly eyes...
@AronLee that's what I meant to type. Autocorrect "fixed" it from googly to google.
@atheistengineer Autocorrect can be so helpful that it's not helpful at all! haha
@atheistengineer I've posted these on T****er, but still my favourites:
@atheistengineer The first book is Poe's "The Turn Of The Screw"
@atheistengineer
Don't know who originated this one, but I love it
Eye Bombing: Artist Vanyu Krastev Using Googly Eyes To Bring Objects To Life

Eyebombing is street art in which small plastic eyes are glued to an inanimate object. The idea is to skillfully give it the appearance of a living being. The aim is to humanize the streets

@atheistengineer

did you know of the parallele universe where there is no life, but only stones with google eys who can talk to each other with text bubbles?

@TomSchmidt @atheistengineer Now I've seen everything, everywhere, all at once.

@StephenTherry @atheistengineer

What did you think of it ?

@atheistengineer You forgot the (TM) after Google.
@atheistengineer Here’s a thanksgiving 🇺🇸 contender…
@atheistengineer Reminds me of this photo I took on my vacation to Germany recently. Should've brought some googly eyes with me clearly...
