I did explore #burgundy #wine lately, I'm now exploring #Marlborough wines, I have #pinotnoir #sauvignonblanc of course, one of my top favourite, NZ makes something amazing with those, #chardonnay and a rosé PN. And yet, I can't but help thinking I need to know more and search for inspiration where to explore next. Anyone has any ideas or favourite regions? #winelover #winelists #winegeek #WineTip #winetasting i like to explore the main varieties of a region.
@micchega If you're looking for variety, 2 regions come mind.The first is Peimonte. The number of different wines produced is amazing and even with only one grape there can be many different wines. Nebbiolo has its famous Barolo and Barbaresco as well as other regional versions that are all different such as Nebbiolo de Asti, Langhe or Rorero Nebbiolo, and so on. I can't list all of the other grapes. The second area would be languedoc-roussillon as again the number of varietals is huge. #wine

Barbera, Dolcetto, Freisa, Ruché, Grignolino, Pelaverga, Vespolina, Arneis, Timorasso, Cortese, Muscat Canelli, Erbaluce and probably others. #Piemonte #wine #GrapeVarieties
@AlexGBardsley @dlupham I come from #Liguria the nearby region of #Piemonte and yet I have tried only #Barolo and #Gavi, really love those two. I'm really curious to try #barbaresco and #dolcetto, among others. I would also like to explore #germany at some point as a #winecountry, it's not one people usually talk about and I like not mainstream choices #winelover #winegeek #winetasting
@micchega @AlexGBardsley A few years ago BC (before Covid) I drove from Alba to Cinque Terre and then along the Coast to France. I had several meals with local wines that were quite enjoyable. I don't what the grapes were but I liked the wine. #wine
@dlupham @AlexGBardsley I'm from east coast of #Liguria, on our side of the region you'll find #Vermentino #Albarola for the #whitewine and #Ciliegiolo or #VermentinoNero for #redwines. From west coast there's also #Pigato (w) and #Rossese (r). I particularly liked #CantineLunae from #Luni, their Vermentino w and r are fenomenal #wine #winelover #winegeek #winetasting #italianwine

L'Auberge Chez François
@AlexGBardsley @dlupham Bissone has one of the vineyards right behind my cousin's house. They're on my radar but I haven't tried them yet. Cantine Luna e I've found them out like 3 years ago and it's a great quality safe bet year after year. Have you ever tried their Albarola or Vermentino Nero?
