Happy mid-week, all!

A reminder that you can post about any topic at all on .art - you don't have to *only* post your art! We're here to follow people, not brands ^.^ You can talk about your daily life, share your pet pics, etc. - and you can also talk about the progress and method of your work; people here love the background and behind-the-scenes looks at people's creations as much as the finished products. You don't have to perform for an algorithm here - there isn't one. <3

@Curator mooooooore process! ALL THE PROCESS!
@Curator an awesome reminder for us newbies! keep up with the awesome work!
@Curator I will post my dog. I do need to do a photoshoot and possibly a watercolor portrait.
@Curator I livestream to share time with the world because I'm homebound, but I do a mixture of things like art, gaming, writing time, etc. I'm not sure if its ok to, because it feels like a sort of mini brand promotion...is there any aspect of this that is too advertise-y? (To see how I do it my youtube is on my profile)
@renjb Nope, do it all. As long as you're still engaging with the community (as you have been), it's fine. <3
@Curator Don't forget the #WorldCup at the moment; shocking, sports on .art! (yes, it's being held in problematic circumstances, but the ordinary football fan really isn't at fault for FIFA corruption).

@Curator Thank you so much. I hesitate to show the process because I am too embarrassed.

This community is so uplifting and encouraging that I might overcome my shyness and doubts 😊

@Curator Thank you for the reminder. This time of year many artists are in high gear to promote hoping to make some holiday income. It is so easy to forget there are other things going on in the studio and in life. What we find mundane others find fascinating.
@Curator Hi. I am from Bengaluru, India. I dabble with art since a kid. I used to draw squiggles on walls, then went into photography (b&w, too) then took on water colour and paper.
Still dabbling.
@Curator Hi! A friend was asking about joining your server, but was worried that they might get in trouble for posting links to their comic books and clothing designs. Is that allowed or is promoting commercially available art considered being a brand?
@Curator I'm a little irritated by you mentioning that we "follow people, not brands" and also assert that users don't have to "perform for an algorithm" by just posting art. As if people who'd just rather not talk about their personal life or post about the way they make their art are somehow doing something unnatural. Maybe it's just me feeling that way.
@SIEGEPAINT It's absolutely fine to not talk about your personal life or to talk about the process behind your art if you don't want to. The reason I make a point of saying that those things *are* fine to talk about is because Twitter and Instagram punish people for posting those things by hiding them from viewers, so people coming here from those platforms have gotten into the habit of specifically not talking about them - not because they don't want to, but because they're afraid to.
@Curator I see. Thank you for the explanation.
@Curator I'm not on your instance, but this was heartening to see! i haven't posted my art frequently in forever, so this may inspire me a bit to do so, even over on this (Indigenous, Sámi) instance I'm posting from. :)
@Curator I wonder how many of us still have a copy of #GilbertAndGeorge Planed? On 8 May 2007, for 48hrs only, you could download it from the #BBC and #Guardian websites, print it, and frame it to hang at home. These days it would have been an NFT, which is no fun at all by comparison. When I saw Gilbert and George walking towards me a few years later, I wanted to say, I have a piece of your art, but I didn't. I just smiled and said, love your work, and they completely ignored me.
