I'm so excited, my dye plant order from Kahikatea Farm has arrived. I have now got woad, madder, tormentil, St Johns Wort, and lemon sorrel plants  #gardening #gardennz #dyeplants #dyeing #plants
@craftygardennz do you dye stuff? I'd love to see it if yes :)
@Juliailse I have in the past, but haven't yet had a chance since we moved back to Dunedin. But plans are afoot...
@craftygardennz Exciting! My madder arrived last week but In not sure where to plant it because my soil is mostly clay. I need to get some sand for it.
@Oblomovna I'll have to check the areas my plants need. I haven't finished the area all the dye plants are going into yet, so I've put them in a section of the vege garden for now. They really needed a drink and a lie down after their travels πŸ˜‚
@craftygardennz woah! That sounds like the best order ever! Please share lots about your garden and dyeing. I can't wait to hear ☺️
@jupitersigh I will. The plants are only babies right now, so it'll take a while before they're big enough to use. I do have some other plants I can try dyeing with over the summer holidays.
@craftygardennz all good. I'd like to see photos or anything about how you've paid it all out and planned the garden as well, if you feel like sharing. I'd like to make a garden like this one day too.
@craftygardennz ooh. I didn't know some of them were dyes, look forward to hearing more about these projects.
@BrilleBhrealla The plants are very small, so I might have to wait a while until I can harvest them. If you're interested there's info here on the plants. https://kahikateafarm.co.nz/product-category/plants/dye-plants/
