Are those of you here in the #Fediverse aware of the amazing resource that is https://mynoise.net?

No?
Let me introduce you.

It has a medieval village #background #noise environment with toggles you can use to increase or decrease the blacksmith shop and market and horse clops (among many others).

Oh, you want a coffee shop? Sure thing.
Rain? Thunderstorm? Gotcha.
Generic white noise?
RPG thrills? Of course.
Tame that #tinnitus? Yes!

Check it out!

Background Noises • Ambient Sounds • Relaxing Music | myNoise ®

myNoise sets the standard for online background noise machines and interactive soundscapes.

@djwfyi This is exactly what I was needing for work/writing! Thanks for sharing!
@djwfyi I don't hear sounds of silence. I hear sounds of #tinnitus
@djwfyi @steveumstead Yesssss!!! I have needed this for years! This was why I did almost all of my grad school work in bookstores and coffee shops. I’ve always needed background noise to get stuff done without having people so close to me that I can understand their conversations.
@djwfyi WOAW, IT'S SO CRAZY! Thank you man, made my day, I'm on the Irish coast now...
@djwfyi use the white noise feature a decent chunk of the time. 15KHz tinnitus is an oof
@djwfyi this is awesome -- thanks for sharing!
@djwfyi Japanese Garden has my default working environment for years

@djwfyi They have the Sleeping Dragon: the best relaxation / meditation sound in existence!

https://mynoise.net/NoiseMachines/sleepingDragonToneGenerator.php

(I like to run it with relatively frequent and exaggerated changes in volume of individual components, just because the components themselves are so well blended)

(Really good for work as well, if you need to curb anxiety down!)

Sleeping Dragon — The Calming Tones

Peaceful, highly calming and inspirational sounds, powered by Sleeping Dragon Forever Radio.

@djwfyi Sounds cool! It reminds me of https://coffitivity.com.
Coffitivity - Boost Your Creativity with Coffee Shop Sounds

Coffitivity recreates the ambient sounds of a cafe to boost your creativity and help you work better. Try it now!

@djwfyi I fully endorse this app. Been using it for months. I made a soundscape that combines the coffee shop with a babbling brook, a Japanese garden, and distant thunder. Don’t know why, but it works for me!
@djwfyi What a good find! This website gives me so many options for background noise. Trying out the cafe right now and it's perfection.
@djwfyi Wow, this is amazing.
@djwfyi I will definitely be putting this to good use, thanks!
@djwfyi That's actually a wonderful resource. thanks for sharing.
@djwfyi This is wonderful, thank you.
@djwfyi Well this is the coolest thing I've seen so far today. Thanks for sharing.
@djwfyi Can’t thank you enough for posting about the myNoise app. What a delight!
@djwfyi Shut up. Just shut up. You had me at Gregorian Chant
@djwfyi I use mynoise a lot , especially the Tropical rain and Café-sounds! It's great when I'm tired of listening to radio, YT, audio books and music, but I still need to focus and get work done.

@djwfyi

Thanks for the reminder.

I use this a lot when I'm sprinting. I always toss a few bucks their way because it's just a wonderful resource.

@djwfyi I installed the app and have it set to Warp Speed with animation set to subtle. My cat loves it.
@djwfyi Thanks! Interesting…🪶
@djwfyi This is very cool. Thanks for boosting @foosel

@djwfyi That is seriously neat: I may have to consider using this (and donating to it). Thanks for the pointer!

(ETA: okay, yeah, that's way too much fun. Joined!)

@djwfyi
Looks great, thanks for sharing!
@smach

@djwfyi
Popping in to say that I use it all the time. It's amazing. You can also play several noises at the same time. Want rain noise by a cozy fireplace? This site got it.

Consider donating to unlock a lot more sounds, or just for the sake of donating to this great service.

@djwfyi
Oh wow, what a great site to relax. And there's also an IOS app ;-)
@djwfyi One of the really great things about MyNoise is the ability to combine noises to make your own ‘multigens’ - this is one of my favourite combinations!

@djwfyi Yes, I use it to drown out the noisy neighbour. The sounds are of excellent quality. And good idea to encourage donations - the owner runs it out of goodwill.

It seems to rely on streaming, which must put a huge load on the server.

@djwfyi
This is amazing! I used to do live theatre, and finding "simple" sounds was SO hard. That this is a whole database of them is so cool!
@djwfyi I’ve been using myNoise for YEARS, it’s honestly amazing!
@djwfyi
Ah mynoise.net, my old friend.
Many of the generators are tuned to the same key, so you can mix and match multiple together. I spent a lot of time in school combining various generators together, and using the "save sliders to URL" option, it was super easy to bookmark my favorite combinations.
@djwfyi Not aware. Even has equalizer sliders. Cool!
@djwfyi
Thank you! This is just what we've been looking for.
@djwfyi Wow. Awesome. Bookmarked.

@djwfyi seems that could be useful for #DnD * too. Thanks

(*not that I've ever actually played, but I listen to a lot of D&D podcasts!)

@djwfyi This is really neat! Gonna do something like this in my game I think. just have tons of ambient noise, in lieu of music. XD

@djwfyi holy crap balls. The app is well worth the full price...thanks so much for this.

I use YT vids for this at work, but the app puts all my favourite soundscapes at my fingertips, anytime, even with phone locked 👌

@djwfyi I never heard of this site before and it's great, thanks!
@djwfyi Yep, love this work. The various rain generators are perfect for bringing on sleepiness after a stressful day. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@djwfyi this is incredible. Do you know if it is DCMA free by chance?
@djwfyi I haven't used this in forever, but wow, its catalogue has grown.
@djwfyi this is amazing thank you!
@djwfyi I had completely forgotten this existed. Just scratched an acoustic itch that's been gnawing. Thank you 🙏🏼
@djwfyi This is AWESOME. I'm going to use this every single day.
@djwfyi the app does not contain any trackers which is also very good news
@djwfyi It's possibly one of the most underrated sites on the entire Internet. Just having a bit of fireplace noise on in the background works wonders on a chilly day.
@djwfyi @kavmac Boosted and bookmarked, thank you!
@djwfyi I think I encountered the cafe one during the pandemic -- "get that feeling of being out in public!" -- but this array is... WOW!
@djwfyi This is amazing! Thanks for sharing!
@djwfyi Fantastic! I need something as a change from ASMR to help me sleep
@djwfyi This is incredible. Thank you for posting!
@djwfyi I like the sailboat some days
@djwfyi @aetiology One of my favorite sites for focusing at work. It’s fun to imagine coding in the middle of a medieval village.
@djwfyi Thanks for sharing. This is very cool.
