The irony is (if it can be kept decentralized) the Fediverse could indeed have the potential to become an "everything-app".

Though spread over many different apps (f.e. #Mastodon for microblogging, #Nerdica,... for longer texts, #Peertube for videos, #Pixelfed for photos, etc.) who however share one protocol (#ActivityPub) with one another instead of being centralized in one app.

And with tumblr now also planning to add ActivityPub-support this potential could even grow further.
