I tried out the Hive thingy. It’s phone app only??? I don’t do anything meaningful on my phone. All good things happen on a Mac.

@rmondello The annoying part is that you _can_ use the iPhone app on your Mac, but it crashes at the point where it asks when your birthday is.

I wonder if it works once you've gotten past that point?

@rmondello Yeah, I don't want to be a part of any social media that's phone only. It introduces too many potential problems in addition to being wildly inconvenient.

@rmondello I still don’t quite understand what Hive is trying to become… it’s like stuck between Instagram and Twitter and highlighting all the parts you don’t want of either….

@rmondello also just tried it. For focusing on native-only experiences, it’s a pretty bad native experience. Definitely style over substance.

@rmondello I do a lot on my phones but it takes 2-10x longer than on my laptops. So yeah.
