@TeemuRoos @estrapade As you well know my one and only contribution to the field was showing that Fisher information approximations to NML don’t bloody work in practice. I don’t know a damn thing about how any of it actually works I just documented a mild problem with Rissanen(1996)

@TeemuRoos @estrapade oh god that is beautiful — it was never my intent in that 2004 paper to imply any shortcomings in the framework. Kinda love seeing papers that explore those limitations more rigorously than I ever did. I mean I was just a social scientist messing with matters beyond my ken right? ❤️
