@SwellWines We're a #GermanShepherds family here but I like Great Pyrenees, too. Our pups have a couple of #BerneseMountain friends around the corner. I guess we're just #BigDog fans....
@legallaurak I grew up & spent my formative years w/ a #GermanShepherd so they will always have a special place in my heart, but we stumbled upon #GreatPyrenees rescuing one for my then young children & we were hooked. π

@milgrim Nooooooo! π They are actually fairly dingy in the pictures. Itβs just that their white fur makes them LOOK clean. π
@SwellWines ha, I don't believe it. That's pristine by any normal dog standards. I can still tell they are white π
@milgrim Lulu (L on stream pic) stays a bit cleaner as she doesn't stay outside quite as much as Beauregard (R) & when she does, she mostly lies on the patio.
Beauregard lies in the dirt. Look at his side vs. Lulu's rump, but I do often get similar comments.

@kniziol First, they are both rescues, so canβt be π― sure, but both are Great Pyrenees, at least mostly.
I have read that there are 2 strains of Pyrs- 1. Eastern like Lulu (blue) with a thinner muzzle & closely resembling a Kuvasz or Maremma Sheepdog & 2. Western like Beauregard (black) with a slightly blockier head. Though I think classic Pyrs are something in between. π€·ββοΈ
