@davidfowl but the best thing is that they can all talk to each other!
@CrowderSoup Yea, it makes me want to start dabbling with implementations.

@davidfowl me too. @gotosocial is my favorite non mastodon one right now, but peertube and Pixelfed are close seconds.

I think we need a good C# ActivityPub though 🤔

@davidfowl If only mastodon or Twitter had supported highlighting of code snippets

@davidfowl oh wow I’m definitely going to check out Pixelfed.

I absolutely loved instagram for things like webcomics but, ugh @ Facebook privacy.

@jakecarpenter @davidfowl Pixelfed feels like in instagram when I liked it, before Zuckerberg bought it and ruined it.
@Jrz813 apparantly then its Lemmy you're after next ;)
@davidfowl welcome, I am 4 days ahead of you, lol
@davidfowl omg, i had no idea about these other ones.
@davidfowl Ah. I saw someone mention Lemmy earlier today, and I thought it was a person. This clears things up a bit.
@davidfowl oh interesting didn’t know there was one like instagram, I usually share my photography on VERO - might have to check this one out 🤔

@davidfowl #Bookwyrm = GoodReads

Which I am very excited about because Goodreads was doomed as a social media platform because nobody wants to spend all their time there.

But when hooked up to a serious social media platform, things are different. Veeery different.

@davidfowl #funkwhale = ??? Podcasts? I'm not entirely sure how it works yet but I'm excited about this one too.

Right now it is a bitch to get a hold of a new podcast. Most are designed so you need some familiarity with them. You can't listen to episode 85 cold turkey. People just add it to their app and go from episode 1.

This will IMO make it possible to design podcasts for drop-in listeners, more like radio once was.

@davidfowl

Exactly so! Well almost. Sort of. Actually they are all unique 🤓🤔✔️
