If your instance is having troubles, I'm sorry.

With the whole #Twexit, Mastodon's userbase has jumped from about half a million in October to 7 million as of today.

All the admins are working hard to keep the lights on, but many only become aware of the problems when they happen.

Be patient. This will resolve, and the Fediverse will be all the stronger for it.

Meanwhile, if you want to help, head to your instance's /about page, and see if they have a patreon or tip jar.

@fordiman I do hope "tip jars" or something like them--apart from Patreon, which I did not like from experience of it in the past--will arise. If they are secure and easy to use, it seems an obvious thing to create. Unlike Twitter, I feel enthusiasm for making small, regular donations to Mastodon. My guess is that many other people feel the same way.
@Bunkunin don't knock Patreon. They've had their bumps, but nothing handles the "regular donation" model better.
@fordiman Entirely contrary to my experience, which is the basis for my judgments and actions. To each their own, I guess.
