Tomorrow begins the #WorldCup.

Since #FIFA awarded it to Qatar, over 6500 migrant workers have died, from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal and Sri Lanka alone.

Remember when you're watching - every single match, for every minute of play, that's more than 1 worker who died.

Or, for all 8 stadia in Qatar - that's 8 workers for every yard down the pitch, goal-to-goal. Running over the bodies of workers.

Which is why I won't be watching.

Revealed: 6,500 migrant workers have died in Qatar since World Cup awarded

Guardian analysis indicates shocking figure over the past decade likely to be an underestimate

The Guardian

We make choices, all the time, about whose lives are important, who will be featured on the field, who will be speaking from the sidelines.

And whose lives are unimportant, who lies still under the grass, who lies unnoticed and unseen.

Make yours. #WorldCup

@rerutled for the first time since going to Paris in '98 i haven't joined a sweepstake or arranged match-watching nights at the pub...sat out Russia and sitting this one out too #FIFAiscorrupt #WorldCup

@emmessenn For his press conference yesterday alone, #FIFA President Infantino has got to go.

He presumed to speak for the Arab, African, LGBTQ, Disabled, and migrant worker communities - to dismiss their criticisms of him and FIFA.

@rerutled mind blowing really that the chief exec of an organisation can speak about groups of marginalised people like he's putting on a scarf and taking off a coat #FIFAiscorrupt

Infantino has to go and FIFA has to be torn down...
