Aha! Worked out how to get my profile link to my blog to go green! It turns out that https://bofh.org.uk isn't the same as https://bofh.org.uk/ as far as the link verifier is concerned.

Weird.

Just a Summary

Piers Cawley practices punditry

@pdcawley so which url points to which destination file ?
@budley they both point to same file, but the version with the / gets a green link in my profile (because of the rel="me" link back to https://mendeddrum.org/@pdcawley). The link without the / redirects to the the one with it, and mastodon objects to that, apparently.

@budley hmm… scratch that, apparently it doesn't redirect, so now I'm just confused,
@budley I think I have it… masto only checks your links when you change or them, so adding the rel="me" link doesn't do anything until you clear and reset a link in your profile. At least, that's my current hypothesis based on not actually reading the code.
@pdcawley @budley that matches what I've seen other people describe

@budley @dakkar That's kind of frustrating and hard to discover. A 'check my links' button somewhere in the UI, near where it tells you how to add the backlink to your site, would be very handy.
