If you care about increasing biodiversity in the green deserts of carefully tended lawns, you might want to consider a mix of less invasive species. Still aggressively spreading obvs, but supporting soil and insect wildlife.

Like others have pointed out, there is no way to ensure that everybody "playing" is considering the local environment. Better to do things like actually growing a garden, helping to reestablish wild areas, etc.
