Look at this basking Rutiodon, with a tiny Tanytrachelos perched on its head. A scene from Late Triassic North America

This is an illustration I did several years ago in 2019 and that currently appears in the new book โ€œMesozoic Artโ€, published last month. where I am featured alongside many other amazing #paleoartists

Tany and Ruti's Triassic Trek:
classic "road trip" buddy trek๐Ÿ˜‰
Pumba and Timon's idolized Mesozoic comedy inspirations. Often copied but rarely mastered. Back in the day they first said "Comedy is hard. Dying is easy", because death is one and done. Comedy is something else. If your routines bomb on stage, there's no "next time...the audience will gobble you up as part of the entree. The critics. No mercy, They'd tear ya limb from limb, literally.

I was just being a bit silly in my previous comment. Stil reminds me of Pumba and Timon in the best of ways, as well as first and foremost being a really endearing picture. It's great to see visuals that don't have to be all terror and dismemberment, etc. It's like the trope that dinos roar constantly, especially if they're meat eaters, hunting.
Sometime Nature is all "red n tooth and claw', but there are times when natures denizens were/are chill af.
Love this! Boosted!
