Good morning Tooter's.
Here are some photographs from my Red road collection.
These are from the final demolition phase which didn't go as planed.
In an attempt to blast the last 6 blocks, two of the blocks only partially collapsed, leaving some great images.

@wulliebroon They made some mess of my old house that day
@Celticdaft After all that DIY you've done, how did you notice ? 😂
@wulliebroon In needed a wee bit more than a lick of paint 😂😂
@wulliebroon My grandparents lived there
@Jacquie I lived there as wll for 2 yrs. The people were fantastic but unfortunately the council had no money to refurb them.
@wulliebroon It was 50+ years ago, looking back it was a bit of a design flaw that if you went up in the lift you had to go through someone’s flat to access stairs if a fire broke out or lift’s broke.Don’t know if all flats were like that but if no one on the landing was in you could be stuck
@Jacquie Yeh, that was in the two slab blocks, I stayed in one at 183 Petershill drive.
Just before I moved out they had started building fire escapes in the slab blocks that you could enter via your landing.
@wulliebroon unfortunately I can’t remember the number but must have been high up as I remember in high winds you could feel it
@Jacquie You can see the fire escapes in this image
@wulliebroon think some became nurses digs for a while
@Jacquie Yes, I think the nurses digs were at 10 Petershill court. There were 3 & 4 appartments in that block, Ideal for nurses sharing.
