People who are just-just joining us, two primary culture notes:

1. Alt text for pictures is extremely strongly encouraged here.

2. CW is "Content Wrapper" as much as "Content Warning"; content that is loooooong, has a sharply limited audience, or is upsetting is a strong candidate for a CW; use your judgement.

-EDIT-

If someone's policing CWs to protect their white/straight/etc fragility? Tell them to get bent.

But! See this comment and followups:

@LeviKornelsen Presumably the generous use of emojis is frowned upon too? Too many of them can be monumentally annoying when read by a screen reader.
@LeviKornelsen Could you explain alt text for the non techie like me please.
@LeviKornelsen How does one add "alt text" to images?
@LeviKornelsen 😂😂 Get Bent is now my fav phrase. Thanks for the tips too!!

@LeviKornelsen

Your point about CW as Content Wrapper is INCREDIBLY helpful to me as someone whose posts are sometimes very niche specific! Thank you!

@LeviKornelsen some people don’t want to deal with listening to racism, sexism, etc. because they are privileged.

But the folks I’m seeing who ask for CWs for those topics are themselves trans or POC or other marginalised folks.

They ask for CWs because they live with these issues and want the option of not having to be triggered or to be reminded of the crap they have to go through here.

CWs, even for racism etc. are situational. It’s good to default to considerateness.
