@darnell one more reason for setting up a single-user instance of Mastodon, if you're in the USA, is that you don't need to bother with registering with copyright office and all regarding DMCA.
@darnell BTW, single-user instances are a great way for the young'uns (not the music group) born into walled gardens to learn about the original ways of the Internet, as it was intended to be.
To be #makers, #tinkers, #repairers.
Instead of consumers hoodwinked into thinking they're creators and influencers.
Plus, federation is a path better suited towards Web3.0 instead of Web3 😎
@darnell I'm yet to succeed in getting my single-user instance of Mastodon up and running.
Once I cross the learning curve would like to see if it can all fit into a #RaspberryPi 😀

@prem_k @darnell finally got the #SingleUserInstance running on the #RaspberryPi ... But still getting a hang of #Fediverse & trying to figure out how #FederatedTimeline works in #SoloHosting. Only older toots are being shown, nothing newer than 5 days ago comes up. 😭
I was asked to keep sidekiq clean ... don't see any issues there either.
