I'm a kidlit editor and scallion pancake enthusiast (lol). Right now I'm working on a fantasy novel set in a magic college. It's queer, hopeful, and influenced by the time I spent in Taiwan as a kid, along with all the magic school books I read growing up.

I am working on an illustrated anthology of stories from a future world where extended reality technologies allow people to share bodily sensations, talk to ecosystems, and store versions of themselves for 800,000 years - among other things.
I'm co-writing the narratives with a fellow writer and we're working with a visual designer for the illustrations.

I'm an assistant in children's editorial and I write short stories that are a varying mix of feminist, queer, fantastical, and/or terrifying. Currently trying to finish two short stories –– one about a bad ghost boyfriend haunting a boarding school and another about a boy who accidentally performs necromancy using a spell off Reddit.

@slhuang @sffbipoc working on my first xianxia story, along with a crossover involving the Legend of White Snake and the Little Mermaid.

Once I get some time around the holidays, I want to finally work on that xianxia series that's a mashup of Sword & Fairy and Final Fantasy.

My next book MOTHER SEA is fabulist & feminist, with a scientist trying to save both her home & her unborn child. It's about communal identity & communal grief, climate change x post-colonialism on a remote Indian ocean island. 💪🏽🖤🦎🌊

For NaNo I’m writing a story where three people of different magic systems work together after their colonizers return hoping to take back the resource rich archipelago!

I have a middle grade idea still cooking that I can’t get out of my head that will be worked on next!

For #NaNoWriMo, I’m working on a #DarkFantasy #novel I’m comping as Mexican Gothic meets Snowpiercer. Two characters have died so far. 💀 It’s going overall well, despite doubting I’ll hit 50k!

I also #AmQuerying another dark fantasy novel featuring Cthulhu-like monsters, the sentient teeth of one such monster, and ideologically opposed magic systems. I have a decent amount of requests so fingers crossed!

ATM I’m starting the 4th and final book of my #sciencefantasy series #TempestBlades, while the 3rd book is with my publisher @TangentGeoff of Artemesia Publishing, for edits. The 3rd book will be released in June 2023. And this time I hope to have the following book ready right away instead of waiting a year. The 4th will be a #FinalFantasy esque epic if it was scored by #Epica 😂

@slhuang @sffbipoc I’m currently struggling through writing book 3 in my post-apocalyptic utopian/dystopian love story triptych (hinge together but capable of standing alone, not quite a series.)

The ARC for my book 2 (PRESET) is coming out on Monday from Blackstone, so I’ll be anxious over that too. The cover is pretty though.

To @sffbipoc, I'm an acquiring editor at a small SFF press, Tachyon. I just put a SF novel into production and editing two more fantasy books this year, and I'm querying an isekai fantasy romance novel that has all the queer radical politics I want to explore. I should get writing my faux-Ancient China fantasy romance next with immortals and spirit-seers.
