Wenn #Boost Ok ist, ist zweimal geboostert auch Ok?
@vowe I think 0, might just missed it
@Bindestriche @vowe there's still time. My partner and parents finally just got it after all this time and I still managed not to 😬

@vowe As far as I know: Nope!
Had 3 shots so far and waiting for a fourth booster shot.
Fortunate to be allowed to work a lot from home, so I don't have to be in the worst possible locations all the time.

In the beginning we were not even allowed to visit the offices unless directly ordered to. So we have avoided a lot of issues at my company.

@vowe 0 – not that I know of…

@vowe
I'm not sure how many times I was infected. I was a bit sick a few times during the months the pandemic rates were high here. Could be Covid-19, could be 'flu.

I was probably infected twice: Once right at the start, March 2020, and a second time during the summer of 2022.

I wasn't tested.

@vowe Why this should be boosted, if your recommendation is to mute boosts? 🤔
@vowe i was curious and paid for checking my AB-titer against N-protein - not detectable…
@vowe You need an option for "I don't know" as many people who had it were asymptomatic. I still mask and social distance, but I don't feel like I have been careful enough to say I never got it.
@SoapyFMF @vowe we just had a study showing about 1/3 of adults here have not had it. So you're more likely to have dodged it than the rhetoric makes it seem -- or at least in Canada you are
@Miker93 @vowe Medical research isn't "rhetoric". No offense to you.
@SoapyFMF @vowe I don't understand your comment.... the science shows less people have been infected than the rhetoric that "everyone has had it"/"everyone will get it." So, to be clear science: "1/3 have not had it" rhetoric: "you've probs had it even if you think you haven't"
@Miker93 @vowe That is well put. I interpreted your first comment as stating "the idea that people have been infected without knowing it is bullshit"
@vowe infected once, but before the first vaccine.
@vowe Something that a lot of the podcasters I listen to seem to forget: the "lockdown" simply didn't happen for most Americans. Most of us never had the option of staying home. We kept on commuting to the same jobs. My company (10 Roads Express) was owned by a Trump supporter and mainly pretended the pandemic didn't exist. No sick days; no paid medical leave. People constantly came to work sick. We all got COVID.
@vowe
First March 2020 : very bad, bedridden and flu like symptoms ( had a flu jab 4 months earlier)
Second December 2020 : no symptoms, tested positive at testing centre. Came out of isolation 24/12/20.
Third April 2020 cough, tested positive when I had a cough for 2-3 days ( had one vaccine by then. I’ve had four covid jabs including 2 boosters.
#Covid19 #NHS #LongCovid
@FayeSouthall @vowe third in April 202_1_, I guess. 😏
@vowe I really don't know. Tests have eben negative, but it was no "normal" cold. Therefore, I think İ have been infected 1 time at least
@vowe
Twice, both times from my sons school, despite him wearing ffp2, nothing since change to ffp3.
All of us jabbed and back then boosted once, now twice.
@vowe its wild to me that almost 50% said no. I live in the Philly area and every person I know has had it - my wife has had it twice now - including every one of my employees.
@kristofOliwa @vowe
Same but I live in Tennessee
@Randomjeweler @kristofOliwa @vowe I live in Germany and I know several families where noone got COVID so far. When we talk with friends, my impression is that 50-60% of them got it and the other part is still "waiting" for their first infection.
@qbi @Randomjeweler @kristofOliwa @vowe we just had a study showing 67% of adults have has it here, which is pretty close to your number (here being Canada)
in the UK 90% of people are estimated to have had at least one covid infection as of August, that's up from 70% in April and 30% just prior to Omicron
@wolfie study out this week 67% of adults in Canada have had it
@Miker93 seems that mastodon users are currently beating the stats of at least two countries!
@vowe I'm immune to that.
@vowe hubby had it 2x. Once before the vaccine in Feb 2020 and just last month. Feb 2020 he ended up with double pneumonia and sick for a month, this time it was just like a mild cold for him.
@vowe Ok, that might be a bit cynical but: do you anticipate the survivor bias (literally!) when taking conclusions from your poll?
@vowe Maybe. One of the early outbreaks in the UK was in Ely, I got -something- coming back on the train from there from a family who had come back from Italy and whose horrible, horrible children were coughing and spluttering all over the place. Nasty cough that lasted a while.
@cabd @vowe i hope the kids were okay , that sounds really tough
@thefucker @vowe Forgive me if this sounds uncharitable, I sort of hope the parents and children were sick enough such that they now use hankies when they cough and mask up if there is any danger they're ill. I found their behaviour grotesque if I'm honest. Coughing all over the place like that was never ok.
@vowe It would be good to have an option for "not as far as I know". I've never tested positive, but I can't be sure I didn't have a subclinical case.
@vowe @Noams_Ark COVID naïve here. Intend to stay that way.
@vowe I've twice been admitted to hospital for asphyxiation due to asthma related issues with common cold variants. The four days of covid exhaustion felt a lot like that. Pulse oximeters are cheap and very worth having thesedays.
@vowe So far i been following all the rules; still using mask when out and got my 4th jab already.
@vowe got it once, being triple vaxxed made it not awful at all though, I was feeling fine by day 2 aside from losing taste and smell and by day 10 of isolation I was testing negative and right as rain!
@vowe triple vaxxed at the time* I'm quadruple vaxxed now lol
@vowe Actually, I am a "don't know." I might have been infected very early at the outset of the U.S. lockdown before there were at-home tests. I suffered from the worst cold I ever felt, which in retrospect I thought might be COVID, but I was never sure.

@vowe three times.

First two times , pre vaccines, landed in the hospital for my heart rate shooting up to 220 BPM and organs nearly failed.

Third time, post vaccine, had a horrible cough which codeine syrup fixed, much milder.

Important to note, I have a compromised immune system .

@vowe not yet, as far as I know! I'm pretty diligent with testing when I experience any kind of symptoms, and so far none of them can be back positive, but I can't rule out I had it without symptoms
@vowe
To my knowledge I haven't had it, though it has been in my house a couple of times. I stayed away from everyone and we all masked and I kept testing negative so... I'm pretty sure I haven't had it?

@vowe

I would not have expected a 45% ratio of non infected in 2022 - even in such an unrepresentative sample as here…

Must be the nerds never getting out 🤣

(And yes, I know, “asymptomatic” may not even register the infection the short period it can be detected with the tests…above is meant as a joke)

@vowe I still mask up in public closed spaces and hand sanitize the f out of my hands. I'm up to date on all recommended shots in Canada.
@vowe
Probably 0 (one weird respiratory thing, but rapid tests were negative all week).
But.
I've been in lockdown since the start of March 2020. I go out rarely, and when I do I wear an n95. I haven't been inside a restaurant or coffee shop. We've had a total of five guests and 4 technicians in our home in 2 1/2 years. I work from home, visiting the office 1 or 2 times a month during our quiet season, with a mask on and rapid tests before & after.
I'm immune compromised and have damaged lungs; my partner is the same. We just can't risk getting sick, so our pre-covid lives are over.
@vowe do you mean ever or only recent wave?
@vowe How about option 0, but "technically never tested positive, but how to be certain?"
@vowe last March both my husband and me after visiting U.K. from France. Mild dose but both suffered fatigue plus afterwards for several weeks.
@sdarcy @vowe Argh I’ve avoided it for so long, then 2 weeks ago caught it from a trip to London. relatively mild, but awful fatigue now 😞
@vowe My son and I had Covid before it was cool. In 2019 went to a HS Robotics comp and everyone there got sick within 48 hours. From what I was the first reported case in NOVA Virginia happened to be the sister of a kid that went to the school. I have had it 3 maybe 4 times and fully vaced, first time sucked, the others just sniffles and runny nose.
@vowe Once. And never recovered. Meh.
@vowe Got long covid after the second one.
@vowe 1, just the last 2 weeks.
@vowe This needs a "not sure" option for those of us who came down with quite Covid-like symptoms but didn’t test positive.
@vowe Should have had a choice for "probably but don't really know because tests weren't available yet."
