A low-stakes question for the librarians, booksellers and book-lovers out there... I'm putting some recommendation cards on the shelves of my (academic) library's leisure reading collection, with short reviews from members of staff (and hopefully students too!). Should these be handwritten or typed?

I feel like handwritten cards feel more "personal", but might be difficult for some to read... Thoughts?

In case anyone is interested, these are the leisure reading recommendation cards I've started using after my poll the other week. Decided in the end that while handwritten cards look nicer, ultimately accessibility had to be the main concern. Many thanks everyone who offered opinions on this!

@woodsiegirl I really love the little handwritten notes at my local. The typed ones are generally for ‘official’ info.
@woodsiegirl
To be honest I think either would be fine, so long as it's not typed to look like handwriting. Whenever I see handwriting I immediately check for that because it feels inauthentic; I want the benefits of personalizing without the work it entails.
@msjennmo 100% agree! I can't stand "handwriting" fonts
@woodsiegirl a local bookshop types theirs up to be more accessible but the seller writes/signs their first name or a smaller note to make it personal which is nice
@woodsiegirl I would say handwritten in all instances where the handwriting is legible, so I would recommend printing and/or block capitals over cursive, even from the person who does calligraphy as a profession or a habit.
@woodsiegirl I’d prefer typed unless someone has really neat handwriting that’s not a struggle to read.
@woodsiegirl Seconded for if handwritten then in capitals. My absolute fav? Old typewriter!
@woodsiegirl You! Seems we are the only two who've used the hashtag #LibrariansofMastodon 🤣
@Bearfacedlady oh lol!! We definitely need to make it a thing...
