I'm rather intrigued by this photograph of the Freeport, #LongIsland, Smith family. c. 1908. It's held in the #Hofstra University Special Collections.

Several of my students have used the later letters of Marjorie Smith (bottom right) to write research papers. But none used this picture, so the #crocodiles remain a mystery...
