We're currently on using DeepL (free) for translations, but there's LibreTranslate too. It can be self-hosted but it requires a lot of resources. There's a subscription option for $19/month but we'll see how we get on with DeepL and how much use the translate feature gets.
@nathan I use DeepL regularly for English-Chinese and it does the job most of the times but canโ€™t handle queer vocabulary very well
@nathan For now, it's only proposing to translate Dutch toots to English... Dutch is my native language though. There should be a setting to exclude languages from translation. ๐Ÿ˜†
@MxAlba @nathan True. I still feel that 95% of software is built in a way that expects people to speak one language and one language only.
@nathan Do you have any experience with the quality of LibreTranslate translations? Deepl is excellent, but having a well-working FOSS alternative would be nice.
@nathan I've found deepl very useful in numerous occasions so I think it's the best choice. See you soon!
@nathan Using DeepL myself. Great translations. Really neat tool.
@nathan DeepL is the ay to go, wwe need it for technical translation and it is nearly perfect
@nathan is there something I need to do make translation happen? Is it web only? I haven't seen anything get translated so far
@halisUwU Only web, it's a really new feature and developers need to update the apps.
@nathan oke cool, I mean for now open in browser works fine for lote toots ๐Ÿ˜Š
