Extremely intrigued by Aconite's new Bureau of Multiversal Arbitration!

The first game where AI-powered art generation is a core mechanic? Very probably! And just in time for an EDGE column I’m writing about how AI content generation tools will transform game development and design…

Bureau of Multiversal Arbitration

@adrianhon I’ve been informed by @mjandersen that it’s not the absolute first but it’s very well designed. The onboarding/tutorial in particular.
@kathrynyu @mjandersen Damn you Michael! So which is the first? Good thing you mentioned before I sent my draft in!
This Genius Wordle Clone Makes You Guess AI-Generated Art

It's a cross between Wordle and the Dall-E Mini AI art generator.

@andybaio @adrianhon @mjandersen I’ve noticed searching for prior art (ha ha) is difficult because many games are using AI to generate the underlying assets as opposed to integrating AI art into the core gameplay mechanics (thereby making it player-facing).

@adrianhon @kathrynyu When in doubt, I just never make "first" claims because there's always that one you missed in the search process.

But yeah, I had two or three others pop up when I was searching for priors. Interestingly, my CAPTCHAs have also been getting more fanciful - just yesterday I was asked to ID chickens on a beach!

@adrianhon everyone is overthinking this. Just spent a couple weeks training a model on "fun" and then let it create the best game ever made. Duh.
@Tehhund @adrianhon Just what we need, an AI-generated game trained on Dwarf Fortress.
@adrianhon Loving the Loki vibes. Clearly there was some inspiration there, but it works!
