I sawed this septarian concretion in half, to reveal a lovely pale brown #coprolite in the centre. But weirdly, the two sawn halves seem to have faces, looking at each other, with different expressions. Some kind of dialogue maybe? From the Orchard Beds in #RoukenGlenPark #Geology One for @palaeokatie !
@FaithfullJohn omg they totally do have wee faces! Maybe it was a particularly honkin’ jobby πŸ˜‚ I really need to get that visit through to Rouken Glen!
@FaithfullJohn @palaeokatie wow!! Where's that in the park?
@Gordonmorrison52 @palaeokatie down in the Auldhouse Burn: there's a wee sign with info about the rocks at the Orchard Beds location... Also display of specimens + a video in the Pavilion (if it's open ☹️) by the playpark...
@FaithfullJohn @palaeokatie Thanks, walk my dogs often in the park and never knew about this!! Maybe theyre dog coprolites.... πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰πŸ‘
@Gordonmorrison52 @palaeokatie Ditto dog walking in Rouken Glen πŸ‘ Looks like a sair trachle in the glaur the day though.. 😬
@FaithfullJohn @palaeokatie Yep.. sure is! They'll only be getting one big walk (and drying) today, plus a couple of smaller ones. β˜”β˜”β˜”
@FaithfullJohn @palaeokatie Got to love a beautiful example of paradolia. Thank you.
