Trying a new app. Was not terribly impressed with the first one I tried and had been using the website mostly. Any advice on apps? Are the paid ones better? #apps #bestapp #paidapps
@SpicyLilly_ I've not tried any, but having space on my phone, but @keithwilson posted something about a new version being about to come out, which might improve things. (I think you're both iPhone people.)
@timtfj @SpicyLilly_ I’ve tried a few and so far the official Mastadon app and Tooot (which is very clean and simple) are my favourites. There’s a new version of Mastodon due shortly, but I don’t know whether this will be reflected in app updates as they are maintained by different people.
@keithwilson @timtfj there are two issues I’ve noticed with Tootle. The app does not show apostrophes. You get the coding combo that results in one instead. Also, I’m not getting notifications. Might see if I can find a reason somewhere. I otherwise rather like this app.
@SpicyLilly_ which one are you using? I’ve been using the mastodon app for iPhone. I’ve always used the default twitter app too.
@Farah I’m now using Tootle. I also used the default Twitter. I like the feel of this app better than the regular one, so far.
@SpicyLilly_ @Farah @MxCazzo I have noted that I’m not getting notifications from Tootle. I’m going to try restarting my phone *sigh*

@SpicyLilly_ It took me a little while to retrace your posts to see which system you were using. Having seen it's iOS I'd recommend @MetaText

If you were using Android I'd say @Tusky

@SpicyLilly_ I didn’t even realize there were other iPhone apps than the native Mastodon app for iPhone! But I use @echofon on Twitter. I only use the native Twitter app to approve follow requests.
