Starting a mastodon-only thread of miniatures I've painted that I think are pretty decent. I'll add to it every now and again.

First up are Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker minis from the Star Wars Legion game. Do hashtags work here? #starwarslegion

This one is a Frost Orog from a D&D miniatures box made by Epic Enocunters - I painted up a whole set of these with a massive giant for a weekend D&D session.
What's a D&D adventure without heroes to fight the monsters? For the same campaign I printed and painted minis for my friend's player characters. This was one of them - a heroforge barbarian suspiciously similar to Conan.

Going back quite a bit for this post - on the right is a modern space marine from my #Warhammer #40K Blood Angels army I painted a few years back, on the left is an old metal space marine I managed to get hold of and paint a long time ago.

The old marine is I think a recast of one of the first ever space marines - I'm not quite that old, I didn't start playing myself until the 3rd edition.

While I'm posting #Warhammer #40k stuff, I'll post this too.

It's a modern #HorusHeresy model that's inspired by the design of the old space marine miniatures featured in the last post, I've painted mine up in the livery of the Death Guard.

Every miniature I've posted so far has been an individual model or two, so I'm mixing it up and showing that I can paint in bulk.

This is my army of #Warhammer #AgeOfSigmar #Nighthaunt ghosts that I painted for some reason even though I don't play the game.

I used a lot of transparent paints and drybrushing to get this done in a reasonable timescale. I have a lot more left to do, but it's not a high priority as I don't play the game!

Here's a close-up of a single #Nighthaunt #Warhammer #AgeOfSigmar ghost that I painted.

Here's another pair of #Warhammer #AgeOfSigmar models I painted a few years ago - these are some sort of Khorne worshiping warriors?

It's a bit weird how I've painted so many models for a game I don't play.

This is a more recent #warhammer #Warhammer40K #40K #HorusHeresy model I've painted.

I was browsing the free STL files and found one for a suspiciously familiar big marine lad. I don't play Alpha Legion but I had to print it out and paint it as a desk ornament. It's nowhere near as nice a model as the FW one, but it cost pennies.

This is an old one - a #Tyranid carnifex model I painted up years ago and I'm not even sure where it is now.

#Warhammer #40K #Warhammer40K '#PaintingMiniatures

This is another really old paintjob of mine, a Black Templar captain I painted when the Assault on Black Reach box first came out in 2008.

I don't know why I chose the Black Templars colour scheme because I collect Blood Angels.

#Warhammer #40K #Warhammer40K '#PaintingMiniatures

This is a more recent paint-job of mine, a death guard sorcerer that I got for free because GW accidentally included it in a box set it shouldn't have been in!

The head is from a terminator kit and the base is from an easybuild Stormcast model.

#WarhammerCommunity #warhammer40k #warhammer #40k #paintingminiatures #DeathGuard

Here's another evil villain I've painted, Count Dooku for #StarWarsLegion.

#PaintingMiniatures #StarWars #CloneWars #SWLegion

This is a test model I painted for a #Necromunda #Delaque gang. I've not yet got round to painting the dull gang but it's on my 'to-do' shelf.

#PaintingWarhammer #WarhammerCommunity #40K #Warhanmer #PaintingMiniatures

I don't print many units for my #40K armies, but this is a Redemptor dreadnought that I stumbled across on Cults3D and it was so nice I just had to print it out.

#WarhammerCommunity #Warhammer #Warhammer40K #BloodAngels #PaintingMiniatures #3DPrinting

I think I might have too many dreadnoughts, I must have at least 10 (and unlike my last post they're mostly legitimate plastic ones).

Here's one of them - some of the transfers I'm using are actually from the 2nd and 3rd edition transfer sheets for a retro vibe!

#WarhammerCommunity #Warhammer #Warhammer40K #BloodAngels #PaintingMiniatures #40K

While I'm posting my #BloodAngels stuff here's one of my captains - again this was inspired by the 2nd edition style, with yellow detailing all over.

#WarhammerCommunity #Warhammer #Warhammer40K #BloodAngels #PaintingMiniatures #40K

Sticking with the theme here's a metal Blood Angel that has been in my army for a long time, a school friend ( @alexberndt ) had it in his Salamanders army which I eventually bought off him and absorbed into my Blood Angels around 4th edition or so.

Here he is, the Doctor. I may have grown up with Sylvester McCoy and Paul McGann as the doctor, but Peter Capaldi is my favourite #DoctorWho.

This is a resin miniature from #GaleForceNine, a plastic version is available in the Time of the Daleks board game.

Back to #GamesWorkshop with a #Necromunda Cawdor ganger I did as a test recently - more of them to be completed in future.

#Warhammer #Warhammer40K #WarhammerCommunity #40K #PaintingMiniatures #PaintingWarhammer #PaintingAndModelling #Tabletop #Wargaming #Cawdor

Back to the #BloodAngels, this is one of my Death Company Primaris, the thunder hammer arm is from an older metal captain.

#Warhammer #Warhammer40K #WarhammerCommunity #40K #PaintingMiniatures #PaintingWarhammer #PaintingAndModelling #Tabletop #Wargaming

Taking a break from the Imperium, here's one a few test models I did for a potential #Eldar army I never actually did anything with.

#Warhammer #Warhammer40K #WarhammerCommunity #40K #PaintingMiniatures #PaintingWarhammer #PaintingAndModelling #Tabletop #Wargaming

Another Doctor Who miniature that I painted, from an expansion to Time of the Daleks from #GaleForceNine.

This one is Paul McGann's eighth doctor, and trying to pin the colours down accurately was a nightmare because the fabrics appeared very different under the lights than IRL. I decided to replicate how it looked on the screen in the end, rather than the black & silver colours the costume really had.

#PaintingMiniatures #PaintingAndModelling #Tabletop #Wargaming#DoctorWho #DrWho

Here's the Tom Baker miniature from the #GaleForceNine Time of the Daleks board game. Got to love the fourth doctor.

#PaintingMiniatures #PaintingAndModelling #Tabletop #Wargaming#DoctorWho #DrWho

This model was a bit too big to fit into the little photograph backdrop area I had set up - it's a giant from the #EpicEncounters box sets they make.

Eighth doctor for scale.

#D&D #DND #DungeonsAndDragons
#PaintingMiniatures #PaintingAndModelling #Tabletop #Wargaming

Back to the #BloodAngels, this is just a normal basic space marine, nothing fancy about him at all.

I've been making liberal use of Blood Angels parts and transfers throughout my army.

#Warhammer #Warhammer40K #WarhammerCommunity #40K #PaintingMiniatures #PaintingWarhammer #PaintingAndModelling #Tabletop #Wargaming

Another model here - my #HorusHeresy era #DeathGuard Terminator captain. The base is from an easybuild Stormcast set, I've got a stack of those bases to use on characters.

#Warhammer #Warhammer40K #WarhammerCommunity #40K #PaintingMiniatures #PaintingWarhammer #PaintingAndModelling #Tabletop #Wargaming

Another #DeathGuard terminator, but this one is from after the fall and very corrupted by the plague god.

Really fun to paint these disgusting lads, blood and pus and gore all over - perfect for hiding mistakes in my painting.

#Warhammer #Warhammer40K #WarhammerCommunity #40K #PaintingMiniatures #PaintingWarhammer #PaintingAndModelling #Tabletop #Wargaming #Nurgle

An #Eldar farseer I painted as a test model, I'm happy with everything but the sword.

#Warhammer #Warhammer40K #WarhammerCommunity #40K #PaintingMiniatures #PaintingWarhammer #PaintingAndModelling #Tabletop #Wargaming

Here's a resin Inquisitor #Eisenhorn model I've painted, big fan of the books and this model.

#Warhammer #Warhammer40K #WarhammerCommunity #40K #PaintingMiniatures #PaintingWarhammer #PaintingAndModelling #Tabletop #Wargaming

Here's a Zombie Beholder I painted for D&D, from the Dungeon of the Mad Mage range.

These D&D miniatures are tricky to paint imo because they're made of a much softer plastic which doesn't hold fine detail or sharp edges.

#PaintingMiniatures #PaintingWarhammer #PaintingAndModelling #Tabletop #Wargaming#TTRPG #DND #DungeonsAndDragons #RPG

Here's the orc brewnaster I painted up from the #EpicEncounters hall of the orc king set for a one shot weekend game to go with my Frost Giant.

#PaintingMiniatures #PaintingAndModelling #Tabletop #Wargaming #DungeonsAndDragons #DnD #TTRPG #RPG

@GavinSchofield this is far from boring, great job!

I've got a D&D session tonight so it seems fitting to share another mini from the #EpicEncounters hall of the orc king set.

This is an orc riding a POLAR BEAR! Cannot get cooler than this.

#PaintingMiniatures #PaintingAndModelling #Tabletop #Wargaming #DungeonsAndDragons #DnD #TTRPG #RPG

It's Colin Baker! Another mini from #GaleForceNine

Love the sixth doctor, even if I'm not the biggest fan of that era of the show.

That coat was challenging to paint, I spent a lot of time researching it and discovered there were actually several variants.

#DoctorWho #DrWho #PaintingMiniatures #Tabletop #TabletopGames #PaintingAndModelling

Another #BloodAngels librarian, but this time it's their boss.

I love the classic Mephiston model by Jes Goodwin, despite the flatter pose it really does stand up today.... except for the height, he's just tiny now.

To compensate for this Mephiston went on a big chunky resin base.

#Warhammer #Warhammer40K #WarhammerCommunity #40K #PaintingMiniatures #PaintingWarhammer #PaintingAndModelling #Tabletop #Wargaming

A #BloodAngels Deimos rhino I painted up. Bonus points if you notice what's unusual about it.

#Warhammer #Warhammer40K #WarhammerCommunity #40K #PaintingMiniatures #PaintingWarhammer #PaintingAndModelling #Tabletop #Wargaming

This model was painted maybe 15 years ago now? An Ork I painted as a test model to try out the quickshade dips from #ArmyPainter that never ended up as a full army.

#Warhammer #Warhammer40K #WarhammerCommunity #40K #PaintingMiniatures #PaintingWarhammer #PaintingAndModelling #Tabletop #Wargaming #Orks

Padme, who I painted earlier this year. It was quite difficult for me to do because it was white on white.

#StarWars #StarWarsLegion #PaintingMiniatures #PaintingAndModelling #Tabletop #Wargaming

Here's one of the Blight Haulers from my #DeathGuard army, I think it came out better than the rhino.

#Warhammer #Warhammer40K #WarhammerCommunity #40K #PaintingMiniatures #PaintingWarhammer #PaintingAndModelling #Tabletop #Wargaming

Back to the #BloodAngels, here's an old paintjob I did of the Corbulo miniature (another classic sculpt, Jes Goodwin again I think!)

#Warhammer #Warhammer40K #WarhammerCommunity #40K #PaintingMiniatures #PaintingWarhammer #PaintingAndModelling #Tabletop #Wargaming

Here's one of the yellow command droids from Episode 1 I painted for my CIS army.

#PaintingMiniatures #PaintingAndModelling #Tabletop #Wargaming#StarWars #StarWarsLegion

Here's the tactical droid from my CIS/Seperatist collection, or 'the really annoying orange one' as some people refer to him.

#PaintingMiniatures #PaintingAndModelling #Tabletop #Wargaming#StarWars #StarWarsLegion

Here's another model from my #HorusHeresy #DeathGuard army.

I really need to paint another 60 of these to finish the project!

#Warhammer #Warhammer40K #WarhammerCommunity #40K #PaintingMiniatures #PaintingWarhammer #PaintingAndModelling #Tabletop #Wargaming

Here's a group shot of a handful of models I've completed for my #HorusHeresy #DeathGuard army.

I've still got 40 marines, 10 terminators, a tank and a dreadnought to finish.

#Warhammer #Warhammer40K #WarhammerCommunity #40K #PaintingMiniatures #PaintingWarhammer #PaintingAndModelling #Tabletop #Wargaming

@GavinSchofield I'm working on Alpha Legionnaires and sometimes it's a bit exhausting just thinking on the work ahead, but do they look good.
@Illuminatus It's the trim and details that just exhaust me. It's much better on the mark VI models, but I painted an entire army of droids for Star Wars Legion in about the time it takes to do 10 of these.
@GavinSchofield Exactly. For the Alphas I have it easy on the base metallic blue, since I airbrush a <perfect> vallejo paint for it, but trimming them is a pain and still necessary to "soften" the final result.

Here's a WiP shot for the next squad in my #HorusHeresy #DeathGuard army.

I've made liberal use of the 3D printer and bits box for this squad, to start to vary the armour marks and make it a bit more hodge-podge. There's even a set of FW mark 2 legs in there that I for some reason had going spare.

#Warhammer #Warhammer40K #WarhammerCommunity #40K #PaintingMiniatures #PaintingWarhammer #PaintingAndModelling #Tabletop #Wargaming

Here's one of my Stormcast Eternals, an army I painted solely because they were cheap and I wanted to try out contrast paints.

The main colours are contrast paint + one highlight, with metallics and faces being an exception.

@GavinSchofield hell yeah looks grim dark good
@GavinSchofield I love the poxwalker sculpts. They can also be soooo easy to paint with them being all organic and gross.
@GavinSchofield white on white is a paaaaaaiiiin… Makes me question my sanity for choosing Imperial
@GavinSchofield such a ghastly stare. Really well done!
