I'm leading a panel on #Translation at #AWP2023 and am curious what the translation and @litstudies community would most like to hear/learn about when it comes to #creativity and translation theory. The panelists are all published creative writers who translate, so we will be able to touch upon the unique intersection of creative impulse and translation.

What would people want to hear? What are your interests? I'd love input to help guide the direction of the discussion!

(Please boost this post so others might comment, if you dont mind)

@LbrazealGarza I'd love to hear how relevant creative people think translation theory actually is to their work.

@DrInterpreter

I definitely think this is a topic we will discuss, since I know several of the panelists (myself included) define translation as a creative process---albeit requiring a different kind of creativity than, say, writing a free-verse poem. It's more like #creativity under constraint: like writing a #Petrarchan sonnet.

@LbrazealGarza Creativity under constraint is a great place to start.
