Anybody know of a smart smoke detector which:
- connects to wifi and has an app
- is not on the Google Home / Assistant platform
- has other sensors like temperature and maybe CO?

Aansturen via mqtt , dus supersimpel via HA.
@michielschok oh moest even term achterhalen, goeie qoeie ivm open ecosysteem 👍

@joeldebruijn Ah, sorry.

@michielschok no worries 👍

Just recently started more IoT exploring.

I'm also looking into Zigbee and Z-Wave but want to avoid my devices stop working if the supplier goes out of business. Dont know if those pitfalls are avoidable?

@joeldebruijn pitfalls are definitely avoidable. But at a cost because not all functionality you may desire is simply available via “local API”. I know that Home Assistant is striving to a world with local APIs available. See e.g. https://www.home-assistant.io/blog/2022/07/12/partner-program/ for one of those steps. If a device needs “the cloud” to function, please steer away from purchase.
