Like, I don’t miss the algorithm, but why are DMs just on the timeline. That obviously sucks. Or is that just my client.m?

@sedward5 They may appear on your "home" timeline. As long as they are also in the DM tab, the conversation should only be between you and the recipients.

@vanwas oh. The Toot! client doesn’t have a DM tab I guess. Just don’t want to lose a DM in the backscroll.

@sedward5 It'll show up in your notifications as well under the Direct Messages tab (@)

If you are using the web interface similar to Tweetdeck, you can click the DM icon on the upper left and the far right tab should turn into the DM tab.

Your mileage may very.
