I have regular occasion here in #Chicago to walk the city's underground #Pedway between Metra's Millennium Station and the CTA's Red Line, and it always hits me how what was supposed to be a thriving subterranean mall is now completely abandoned, literally 0% occupancy. There's something particularly terrifying about being all alone in a city of millions, which regularly happens to me down there.
@jasonpettus Good place to shoot a post apocalyptic movie.
@JohnShirley2023 My friends and I have talked about that for years, whether you could get away with shooting an entire indie post-apocalyptic movie guerrila-style inside Chicago's Pedway system without anyone noticing.
@jasonpettus you're supposed to get permission I'd guess but you could probably get away with a lot of it.
@jasonpettus why isn't it be used by walkers? if people were there the stores and foid stands would be there.
@TammyIsBlueInNC This is a microcosm of something happening all the way across Chicago these days, as the internet permanently shrinks the amount of retail space our city needs anymore. Not only does this underground mall look like this, giant blocks up above on State Street do too.
