Look, say what you will about trans people seeking out hormone therapy.

But I'm a cis dude and as soon as I turned 40, my entire Facebook feed became 50% testosterone ads.

Gender affirming treatment is a thing for everybody, you're only bothered when some people do it in a way you don't agree with.

@madmonk You're not wrong, unfortunately. :/
@arclight like, I almost wonder how hard it would be to set up a mechanism where I could order the testosterone for people who actually need it
@arclight I just know the legality of that would be way too sketchy for my anxiety to handle
@madmonk Yeah.I generally leave drug dealing to those with the requisite qualifications and risk tolerance.
@madmonk @arclight if it's those supplements, they are largely useless at doing anything but separating fools from their money. They *may* have some effect in maintaining a higher level without it starting to convert to E, but that would still need another actual source (i.e. supplementation or extreme bodybuilding) to actually get the levels that high in the first place.
@madmonk I started seeing them at maybe 36
@madmonk yeah, as a 50yo cis woman I've been using hormones to control my fertility for decades, and any day now I'll probably start using hormones to help manage menopause. So I sure as hell don't see why others shouldn't be able to improve their wellbeing with hormones
@madmonk I'm convinced that cis-HRT is a severely underrated treatment for menopause symptoms.
@madmonk yeah where is my Viagra
@madmonk Turned 40 and it was like, β€œTHIS GIY NEEDS BONER PILLS, STAT!” on my feed. It was weeeeeeiiiiiird.
@madmonk Facts. I’m a 52 year-old cis woman, and I’m on what is pretty routinely-prescribed HRT. It’s not a big deal, and it’s no one’s business.
