This... sounds interesting. Will Videotron be the first to offer quadruple play exclusively over Wireless (likely 5G)?

Statement by Pierre Karl Péladeau

/CNW/ - In response to the opinion piece by Keldon Bester and Ben Klass about the proposed Rogers-Shaw merger, published in the Globe and Mail on July 12,...

The competition bureau's witnesses so far tend to be "public" who fear that their prices will go up...

and then, on cross-exam when asked if they know anything about Videotron they say "no" and when asked if Videotron has a better deal say the'd take it.

“Next witness for the commissioner is a mortgage broker named Nimesh Chauhan, who is a Koodo (Telus) customer that decided not to switch to Freedom on account of the proposed merger.”

Does the Competition Bureau intend on calling every Canadian? Because this can get old quickly -- yes, we know the Canadian public generally don't follow Telecom closely and don't understand what's going on, that's not what the Tribunal is evaluating.

So Joe, Sarah, Nazreen and Fredrica represent 4 people, altogether, who have different level of education on the proposal.

... so? Where are they going with this?

What in the world? They're still picking up Joe Shmoe off the street and asking their opinion?

How long until the Tribunal judges put their foot down and insist they get to the meat of the issue? What is the Competition Bureau playing at?

“First up is Shane Reimer, a park maintenance worker. Still finding this process difficult to follow/understand without having access to the witness testimony.”

Commissioner's witness, owner of three Freedom Mobile stores, explaining why the current situation of having Shaw own Freedom is a bad idea:

“Mr. Dhamani says Shaw Mobile plans, which were announced in July 2020, created a challenge for Freedom dealers because the plans were undercutting them by 50%. Mr. Dhamani says he was told the plans were temporary, but they remain in the market today. #CRTS #telecom”

Commissioner keeps putting up witnesses that prove that the public isn't following the merger and are confused.

Confusion caused by the Commissioner in many cases. I don't see how this forwards the Commissioner's case.

Lol @ #CTRS

The Competition Bureau keeps putting up random public witnesses that don't know much about the transaction, allowing Rogers/Shaw lawyers to help the witness learn about it:

Finally getting onto Relevant Witnesses.

Sure the Telus guy is going to have an agenda, but at least it's obvious and he knows what he's talking about.
