Those hives look super nice! What have you got hanging down from the bottom?
I would assume there is a metal mesh and then you seem to have a wooden cover on a hinge, right?

@raphadue yes, correct. Bottom board opens for ventilation and can be used for Varroa drop counts. Stainless steel mesh above

@raphadue I love the long windows. First hive had 2 small windows originally, but I've retrofitted the long one this winter

Nice! Do you struggle getting the frames/comb out at the windows? I always thought the #bees love glueing onto them.

@raphadue not really - often when they make new comb on a bar they stick it to the sides (window or not) and I need to cut it off, but once done they tend to leave it as is.
The windows aren't any better or worse that the wooden hive walls
