I thought throwing soup on a protected painting to protest fossil fuels was a bad idea, but will this get as much attention from the media and public?

Greenpeace UK on Twitter

“🚨 BREAKING: Hundreds of activists are PHYSICALLY STOPPING mega-polluting private jets from taking off from Amsterdam's main airport, @Schiphol. "We want fewer flights, more trains and a ban on unnecessary short-haul flights and private jets". Who can disagree with that?”

@petergleick gosh I hope so. Eerie being reminded of "The Ministry of the Future" for the second time this year. First was the India/Pakistan heatwave.
@petergleick Oh I hope so. This is awesome. (granted, I also liked the soup...)
@petergleick I think it's up to us to badger mainstream media if they ignore, but I agree, it can seem hard to get effective and appropriate activism in front of people
@petergleick Unsure, but that's going to be hard as hell for unassumed conservatives to be grumpy about it like they were about "destroying art"
@petergleick this at least seems directly related to the issue.
@petergleick this makes more sense to me than soup on art. The most effective would be stopping the private jets of the guys making the public transport decisions or throwing soup on their art. We cannot create more yellow vest movements, whatever we do.
