My yearly reminder to the Anglophones that "Cheetah" is a borrowing from #Hindi चीता cītā (Cheetah) < #Prakrit citta-a चित्तअ (Acinonyx jubatus) < #Sanskrit citraka चित्रक (Acinonyx jubatus) < citra चित्र (multicolored, speckled).
