My home feed pulls in a lot of indie game dev stuff at this point, which I find interesting as it's adjacent to what I find on Twitter, but different enough that it's interesting. What do you hope to get out of mastodon? If you could wave a magic wand, what would this look like?

@Bja basically I want twitter but without the advertising. I want a place where my friends could share mini blogs of their life (ie what mastodon does now). The trick is getting friends on here.
@SerenadeXS Yeah, getting groups of people moved over is a tougher sell. I don't post much but still use Mastodon for updates on a lot of open source projects I'm interested in (and appreciate the ethos of the community in general).
