📰 d25.community Stats: Week 1

Keep in mind that we’re still unofficial, been going a week, and haven't been announced to the membership base. By word of mouth, we have:

57 people, 216 statuses, and we’re connected to 43 other instances.

The last statistic is awesome: it means our conversations are being seen on the federated timelines of 43 other communities. 43 communities that will be hearing about DiEM25 and our efforts 🤗

@aral unfortunately, at least one of those communities is effectively a one-man-community (manowar.social == me)

@zatnosk That’s OK, so is mine (mastodon.ar.al) :)

That’s yet another reason to celebrate: instances of one are the way that we decentralise things.

Here’s to more of them ;)

@aral @zatnosk

I'm probably stating something already obvious to both of you but it is new to me...

The power here is ability to easily join an established network and then travel down the rabbit hole as little or much as one is willing & able *with* scaffolded support as needed... Brain spinning...

@cogdog I think I *finally* am getting my words around connection between Domains & Mastodon

@aral @cogdog @Tdorey
Sometimes something can be obvious in a way that gets dismissed too easily. I like that I can dig in and get deep into the core, but it's a good (to me) angle you present here, in that it allows for engagement at multiple levels of the scaffolding.
Open source tech is good, and ethical design is good, but the stair connecting the two make them greater than the sum.
