yeah I always assumed Google funding Mozilla was as much about wanting to have a "competitor" to point to anytime someone brings up anti trust

@chi505 @wrongthink That too; they get a lot out of it. Mozilla is also the acceptable face, “the good guy” from Silicon Valley so they get a special place at the table from which to affect policy decisions. If Google can’t say something because they’ll be accused of self interest perhaps Mozilla can, using slightly different words.
