I have updated my profile to include links to my #Asemic #Tarot #blog, and my #MediaLiteracy blog. I will Toot more about the #AsemicTarotCard later. I started the Media Literacy blog when I was still teaching. At the time the #schoolboard & #schooladministration were uncomfortable with blogs ( they banned them), and the Teachers' Federation were concerned "legal issues". After I retired, the school got on Twitter. 🤔 🥴
At the core of #MediaLiteracy is understanding the #MassMedia Principles. If more people understood them, and applied them to consuming, transmitting, and creating Mass Media content, our current digital environment would be considerably different.

When the kerfuffle over #blogs occurred, I reduced my posting on The Media Literacy blog, and began a blog concentrating on #creative expression - #photography, #DigitalArt, and #experimentalwriting. It became a lab to check out activities for my #MediaLiteracy & English classes.
Along the way I began experimenting with #photographed & #scanned #textures (#paper, #plastic,#metal) to blend with my #photographs. #Art #flower

My experiments with #scanned #textures eventually led to what I called #texturedtext, and #collage compositions. Back in 2013, I had not realized I was entering into the #Art genre called #asemicwriting. #asemicart #collageart #scanography #digitalart
The experiments in #scanned #textures and #texturedtext in turn to blending my #photographs of #flowers. I called these #flowergrams. Some of these became a mix with #junkmail #collage scans. The junk mail #collageart were dubbed #junkmailabstracts. #asemicart #collage #art
Eventually, with all the experiments with #scanned #textures, #texturedtext, and #collageart the penny dropped. My experiments with #deconstructedtext actually were part of an #art genre, #asemicwriting. As it happens, my daughter is a #Downs person. She has #communicationdifficulties, but one of the things she enjoys doing is writing-printing out word lists, sentences , and a variety of #texts. She produces so much, I incorporated them in the #scanned #collages. #asemicart
As I created more #asemic compositions, I began placing them in #categories based on specific #media #codesandconventions.
