# Seagulls and the Beach Sign

I had decided to try my hand at drawing some of the birds I saw around Bakkhali. The locations are real photos, but the birds are referenced from other photos because I didn't have any zoom lenses :)

# Windmillin' Doves

The state pretended to care about renewable energy a few years ago and setup a few windmills around the island. They were all non-functional even four years ago when I visited, never maintained.

There were also these spotted doves courting on a thatched roof nearby.

# Big Fishing-boats and Smol Kingfisher

We had visited one of the fishing docks. There wasn't much activity at that time of the year, but there were some cool looking Bangladeshi boats moored, and there was a lovely strikingly blue common kingfisher around.

(I had now given up on the style entirely)

# The Sand Plover Nightmare

I tried to paint fishing nets on the beach, and regretted EVERYTHING.

(Back then I even felt like I managed to make the cute little sand plovers ugly... But four years later, I disagree vehemently!)

# Greatest of All Coucals and the Vampire Tree

There was this really photogenic mostly-dead tree behind our hotel.

And this surprisingly large greater coucal that usually hung out around the leafed trees in the within the hotel's garden, but this is my piece, so I get to move it where I want!

(Still the most stylish of the pieces that year)

# Intermediate Egrets, and the Immediately Regretful Shading—

The place we were visiting is known for its egret population. But I was more surprised just how many of them actually just grazed (they're not supposed to do that) just inside the hotel!

Also, intermediate egret is just a great name for a bird :D

# Hoopoe isn't a Pokémon!, The Greener Grass, and Other Stories

Two eurasian hoopoes (what a name) were walking on the hotel lawn while we were having lunch one day. I actually managed to take this photo clear enough to see the birds!

Boy was that lawn green IRL!

# Drongoes Behind the Glass, WHERE THEY BELONG!

The hotel also had two towers which were closed off from access for some reason. Found these black drongoes playing around the spiral staircase!

Common birds, but cute!
