First read of the year: Confettiregen [confetti rain] by Splinter Chabot. I reserved the book over half a year ago at my local library and finally it was my turn! From what I've seen of the author's personality on TV I expected this to be a pretty light-hearted read, but he struggled much more with his sexuality than I had expected. Once again a good reminder that what you see on the outside isn't always what's happening on the inside.

As stated on tv, it seems most people struggle a lot, even in his family where it would be fully accepted.
@hansw yes, definitely true (as I can also say from personal experience, coming from a relatively progressive family). I guess I was mostly so surprised because he seems so confident in his identity now. But that is of course the result of a journey that I wasn't aware of until now. I'm glad he's in a good place now :)
