I generally avoid politics/news discussions these days, but can't help but think lately how history repeats itself, with whatever little variations. How the US is handling the pull out from Afghanistan would very much seem a strategic "failure" from here.

trillions of $$ and where did all of it go, other than to further grease and line the usual profiteers' pockets. looting isn't liberating, and 'mericans themselves are too well "liberated" and "stabilitated" to even be able to get more than a glimpse of this.
