You know what, I’m gonna do this too.

1. UFOs

The universe is way too big for us to be the only intelligent life form out there. There are 10**21 stars in the observable universe. More than one of them has a planet whose inhabitants have built a radio telescope.

However, I don't think it's plausible at all that extraterrestrial aliens have come to visit us *here*. The rocket equation is a harsh mistress.

So what *are* those unidentified flying objects? I'm betting on experimental military aircraft, me. We know that does happen.

2. Hentai

Not my kink, but you do you.

3. Michel Foucault

I've never actually read any of his writing. Having skimmed his Wikipedia article, I can see why a lot of extremely online people have strong opinions about him, and I do not think I will join them.

If I keep getting likes I'm going to keep going through these in order, but please feel free to reply and ask for a specific one.

4. Gnosticism

I am very much in favor of prioritizing personal spiritual experience over the teachings of an established priesthood, no matter what the established doctrines are.

I do not care for the idea that the material world is inherently evil or even just flawed. I can appreciate the perspective from which incarnate existence inherently involves suffering, but I think the Buddhists have a more humane way of understanding and coming to terms with that.

5. Magick

I understand why Aleister Crowley wanted to coin a term with which to distinguish his variety of paranormal magic from stage magic, but I cannot take his coinage seriously. It has too much of the Ye Olde Butcherede Englishe nature.
